Phrases

If you can translate E-speak (which can be quite a task), you'll find that E is getting very good at putting words together.

Some key phrases ...

"Bee meh"
translation: big mess, as in the state of Mommy's car

"Daddy meh"
translation: Daddy's mess, as in the heap of clothes by his side of the bed

"Pay Baba"
translation: play with Babette, the answer to what he did at school today

"Meeyuk, eh-yo cha"
translation: I'd like to sit in the yellow chair to have my milk

"do mimutes"
translation: 2 minutes, the amount of time to do anything and everything

He can just about parrot back anything he's told and he understands just about everything said to him. In fact, I think he says entire sentences, even monologues, but I'm not advanced enough to understand most of it.

short and sweet

E and I were washing our hands in a public restroom yesterday when the lady next to us at the sink looked at me and said "boy or girl"? I was a bit surprised by the question but replied, "he's a boy". The lady then said, "well, some boys are wearing their hair long these days so I couldn't tell". This was at about 10:12. E's previously scheduled hair appointment was for 10:15, right around the corner from the restroom.

Yes, he was shaggy. But enough to make his gender in doubt?

He's now a respectable looking little boy. Here are some before and after shots.

Catching up

16 days without a blog entry ... what have we been doing, relaxing?

Not really, here's what we have been doing.

1. Granny visited!

2. The Mav defended his dissertation. A few minor updates to the dissertation and he will officially be The Mav, PhD.

3. I started my first post-graduate school job, starting with 2.5 day in-office stint (my home office is 3 hours away).

4. Tee ball!

5. Picked up cap and gown, one LAST time. (really, this is it, no more school.)

6. Nana and Granddah return for a long weekend! A week and a half of grandparent visits - little E is really living the high life.

7. Bumpy tree

8. Me, PhD.

9. A combined 312 years of schooling (this math brought to you without my calculator). The end of the "Grad School" years (decades?). The beginning of the age of the Doctors Cochran (and that's the last of that, any of you call us anything besides Kristine and The Mav, or whatever it is that you already call us, we'll be very, very upset)

21 Months Old

E is 1 and 3/4 years old today but it sure seems like he's two already sometimes. He's still loves the camera and he's very proud of his new shoes.
